We had some brilliant foliage in Connecticut and the surrounding area this year up until yesterday, when the blustering wind transplanted the color from the treetops to the ground in heaping piles of leaves that will soon be dull and brown, and sometime later rot into the ground to feed the very trees from which they fell, while they grace hikers and nature lovers with their sweet, damp smell.
Fall is a beautiful time of year during which Nature uses up six months’ worth of color in a month. From now until April the forests will be brown, gray, white, and a little bit of green. But it’s all worth it for the one brilliant month.
You can see some photos of the foliage last year here. Below are some of my favorite photos from this fall. I’ve been learning how to use Lightroom and Photoshop, which are photo editing software, so there are a couple pics that are quite heavily edited for a dramatic effect. I’m sure you’ll be able to pick them out.
As always with these types of posts, you can click any image to view a larger size. They were uploaded at less-than-maximum resolution so if you’re interested in any of the photos for any reason, let me know and I can send you the full res files.
Enjoy!

The rest are from Connecticut, within 45 mins or so from where I live.
Paths
I’m not sure what it is, but I love paths and roads. Maybe because they’re symbolic of the passage of time, or of the journey through life.
