As I sat in the park the other day eating my lunch and watching the koi and the goldfish in the murky pond, it occurred to me that we are in many ways just like those fish, where the pond is our world. The surface of the pond to the fish is like the edge of our atmosphere to us. We know there’s something beyond, and at night we can even catch a glimpse of the things beyond like fish can catch a glimpse of a tree on the shore, but we don’t really know exactly what it all is.
The fish have no idea what our air-filled world is like. Their entire world is restricted to what’s below the surface of the pond. It’s their world within our world.
Occasionally we abduct them into our world, but if and when they return to their friends, they can’t explain it and their friends think they’re crazy.
As we look upon the pond, upon the fish, and understand the wider reality and that they’re just fish in a pond in our world, so too do more advanced beings look upon our world, upon us, and marvel at how limited our awareness is. I think it’s very likely we are regularly visited by aliens.
The next time you’re outside, look up at the sky and realize it’s just the surface of a pond in a much larger, more complex world, and what you do isn’t much more important than what the goldfish in a murky pond are doing. We’re all just trying to survive.

Throughout “knowing” you, you are my kind of people.
I’ve been reading most of what you have written, and I am thrilled at your writings.
It’s been slow at work through the summer, and I appreciate reading your thoughts, probably more than you know. Thanks, you have given me plenty to ponder on.
